Love

Los Gatos. San Martin. The East Bay. North Beach. This place is great. I’ve only been here 3 days and love is the only word that can describe how happy I am to be here. One small town MT boy in one big ass city, and I couldn’t be happier. The bay area is one of the great places in the world, and exploring it thus far as been as fun as the move out here. If any of you are in the bay and want to get together, give me a ring, those of you that I have plans with already…I can’t wait. This should be one seriously cool/fun part of life. Matt and Pete, get out here!

Park City

I embarked on the road less traveled today. Cowboy hat on. Dad driving the Uhaul. Myself in the Audi. My good buddy and business associate/code monkey Chris Hemphill towing his trailer, and joining us on the journey.

The trip has been good so far. Wyoming is windy as all hell. Not the kind of wind that Uhaul’s tend to appreciate, but the german engineering behind my car seems to treat it pretty well no matter what the wind velocity. The landscape has been mostly barren. Lots of oil fields, oil processing plants, and the towns created by them. Not much to see or really tell stories about, but the drive has been fun so far. It’s good to have a mini caravan to keep the mind occupied. An endless supply of sunflower seeds works too.

We are in Park City to get some shut eye for the night before heading out early again tomorrow. Viva la Olympic City. I have to have respect for the capital of ski racing in America. The US team’s HQ is here, along with some of the best ski racers in the world. It makes me think of my love for ski towns and why I’m not moving to one. But, opportunity awaits in one of the greatest ubercities in america. And, quite frankly, I can’t wait. San Fran should be amazing and only time will tell all of the fun that we (props to those that are moving/ed to the bay) are going to have there.

On the final note. It’s awesome to walk into late night restaurants in small towns. The waitresses are absolutely the best in the industry. They are absolutely incredible at taking care of your every need, while putting a smile on your face. I have to like that style.
