Re-wrapping?
Wednesday, December 15th, 2004Why are companies, but more specifically, beer companies, “re-wrapping” their products then marketing their new marketing?
I’ve been seeing a lot of this lately. Especially on my way up the 101. Beer companies are putting their beer in the same bottles and cans and simply creating new graphic design. Then, they are marketing their innovative “new” marketing by talking about the new graphics. I assume this is to make sure that you know you are drinking their beer even though the can looks slightly different.
Why would you market your new marketing? Why not change the can altogether? Why not put together a street team and engage your customers face-to-face, peer-to-peer instead of spending millions on billboards telling people about the new graphic wrap on your can?
