Wordpress 2.0!

Monday, December 26th, 2005

A great day is upon us, with lots of fun new features. Here on the day after Christmas, and the first day of Hanukkah, a newly spiced up Wordpress is available.

With it, for me, comes a new blog design. Look for it near the end of “break.” Time to throw my personal expression out there in the form of XHTML, CSS, and Javascript…and maybe even a few images. This modified default template just isn’t doing it for me anymore. Need some more color.

Stay tuned.

Google’s quote of the day is one of my favorite ever. The quote I basically live my life by:

Generation Gap

Thursday, December 22nd, 2005

At dinner with my parents tonight:

Me: “I’ve got your back mom.”
Mom: “Oh no! You inherited my bad back too?”
Sister: *Laughing uncontrollably*
Me: “No mom, you know, I’ve got you’ve covered…everything is under control…”
Mom: “I’ve never heard that before.”
Sister:*Still laughing*

Idea A Day

Tuesday, December 20th, 2005

Now here’s an interesting one to think about…

Idea A Day
Where Ideas Are Free

Welcome to Day 1951

Create an online country. New citizens will be allocated a place in
society at random. Their status will change through interactions (or lack
of them)with other citizens. Once a substantial population is in place
political parties will form and there will be referendums and elections,
creating a true online democracy.

Treo Favs

Sunday, December 18th, 2005

So. Though my Treo reset itself, went into an everlasting reboot loop, then erased my entire Address Book, I’ve still got some fantastic recommendations for those of you Treo users out there. I’ve been using this thing for a couple of months now, and testing out different Palm apps. Here’s, what I believe, is everything you need:

1) Chattermail: By far the most full-featured and intuative email app I have yet come across. Thanks Amit!
2) VeriChat: A solid IM client which will get you into everything you need: AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ. Of all of the chat clients I have tried out, this one takes the cake. Includes clever features of all kinds, including one that will keep you signed in at all times. Sweet, I’ll never have to be disconnected. Ever. Again. Thanks Victor!
3) Butler: A host of fun feature modifications, including MP3 ringtones, Keyguard mods, and most of all: turning the up/down volume buttons on the side into scroll buttons.
4) LEDOff: Does what the name implies, save’s your battery. Thanks Eric!
