Books You Should Read

Here you’ll find the “stream” of books I’ve recently read. Though I read close to a book every one to two weeks, I’ll only add the ones that I think are worth your time.

Alvin & Heidi Tofflers’s – Revolutionary Wealth

At first glance this book may seem to be one of those books about how to get rich quick. Au contrare. The Toffler’s have been writing books about how the world is going to change in the future for many many years. And, most of the time they are right. This book is a fascinating look at how wealth has been created over the last century, and how it is going to change with the new information based economy. Get it. Read it. Take it to heart.

Tom Kelley’s The Ten Faces of Innovation:

A moving and inspiring book centered around IDEO’s strategies for driving innovation, and identifying strengths in people in your organization to drive that innovation. The book takes a deep look into the things that make the world famous design and innovation firm tick.

The Group of 33′s The Big Moo:

A fantastic collection of essays/manifestos/mantras featuring one of my good friends Amit Gupta. You’ll also find genuis insight from thought leaders Seth Godin, Malcolm Gladwell, Tom Peters, Tom Kelley, and Mark Cuban, just to name a few. All proceeds go to charity. I highly suggest you pick it up, it’ll change the way you think. One of the best books of the year.

Thomas Friedmans’ The World is Flat :

Thomas Friedman tells a compelling story of why the world is flattening at an alarming rate. His narratives tour through the “new” world from the far east in China and India to UPS and Walmart.

Seth Godin’s All Marketers Are Liars: :

The guru of change and innovative marketing, Seth Godin, explores the notion that the best marketers tell the best stories.

Steven Levitt’s Freakonomics: :

A rouge economist explores the answers to everyday questions. Why, if drug dealers make so much money, do they still live with their mothers? Why did the crime rate drop so dramatically in the beginning of the nineties when all of the experts were predicting otherwise? Fascinating.

Keith Ferrazzi’s Never Eat Alone:

Want to learn more about the real way to network? Keith Ferrazzi nails it directly on the head.

Malcolm Gladwell’s Blink:

A fascinating read involving the power of intuitive decision making.

Malcolm Gladwell’s The Tipping Point:

The Malcolm Gladwell book that started it all. This book features an in-depth look at how ideas move within populations.

James Redfield’s The Celestine Prophecy:

James Redfield’s world famous book that will change the way that you think. A fantastic story about intuition, energy, and the power of ideas. I consider it one of my favorite.
