How to help?

Shots being fired at helicopters?

I watch the coverage of Katarina and have been reluctant to comment on it here for sake of respect and the sheer and obvious size of the problem. But, I’m to a point where I don’t even know what to do when I watch. I wish I could be there, helping, doing whatever I can. But, it’s almost impossible to even figure out how to do just that.

So, I’m stuck with making contributions to the Red Cross. Which, you can do in many places. You can even make a one-click donation using your iTunes Music Store account by clicking here. It makes it super easy.

Let’s hope the outpouring of donations to the Red Cross can make it to the people that need it most, as soon as possible.

Why aren’t “we” more “there” yet? How can we mobilize on the other side of the world in what seems like a moments notice. But, when it comes to our own citizens (no matter the social class), we take days…a soapbox I most obviously don’t need to jump on. I know we’re all wondering.
