The illustrious Dave McClure has started a wonderful new series of events here in Silicon Valley called Startup2Startup. The idea is simple: get together folks in the valley with experience in startups with brand new founders. Learning, inspiration, and ideation ensue. The last few have been really incredible.
Last week, Amy Jo Kim joined to speak on “The Psychology of Fun & Game Mechanics for Internet Startups.” I thought her presentation was particularly insightful and filled with excellent user experience and product advice for anyone building for the consumer internet today. Game dynamics are a particularly powerful way to think about internet product and something that I spend many of my days thinking about.
